Jelly Bean

Jelly Bean

I was walking from the YMCA (where I work part time) to the train station to come home, and in the street in front of the station was a small cardboard box.

It was taped up and seemed odd there - I hesitated in front of it and looked around. No one seemed to be there so I kind of rattled it to see what might be in it. Something light shifted inside but I set it back down ready to walk away. Then I changed my mind, stopped and tore the tape back. Inside was this 4 week old kitty.

This kitty, whom we have named Jelly Bean, was a miraculous save. We had a cold rain that night - the box would have collapsed and she would have died of exposure or worse by the next day.

Before joining the group, JB had to endure a little seclusion while we made sure she was ok. She had fleas, a goopy eye and was a bit thin. Now she’s great.

George, also a new cat, finds the right place for Jelly Bean.

After a nap it’s time for a cleaning, and then a snuggle.
