Kitten Central!

We want to let everyone know that some of the JCN volunteers are forming their own independent welfare group in Tokyo called Save the Kitty! The walk-a-thon originally scheduled for JCN was canceled due to bad weather. The walk-a-thon happening on June 14 will now be held entirely in support of the new Save the Kitty group. All funds from the walk-a-thon and other Save the Kitty events do not go to JCN, but go to Save the Kitty, to be used towards their rehoming efforts in Tokyo. We hope that this doesn’t cause any confusion–those wishing to support JCN should contact us directly. We are happy that there will now be one more group working to help Japan’s stray and abandoned cats, and wish them the best of luck, as they get started on this important venture. We’ve rescued 29 kittens this spring, and we’re looking for a few more hands to help with kitten care, particularly in Tokyo. If you are able to provide short term foster care for kittens headed to new homes, please let us know! We also need transportation for kittens, from the Kansai shelter, by Shinkansen. If you will be headed out this way sometime in the near future, and don’t mind bringing a carrier back with you, that would be helpful as well.
