When we’re hot…We’re hot!

Lots of great things happening for JCN over the past few months! First, our rescued kittens continue to go out to new homes. If you have been waiting for a break to welcome a new kitty into your life, summer might be just the chance, so check out some of the cuties waiting for you to give them a home. We were in the June edition of Cat Fancy Magazine. If you missed getting a copy, check it out here. We’ve received some very kind offers of volunteer help. We’ll be meeting with new volunteers this summer both in Kansai and in Tokyo, so this is a great time to send in your volunteer applications. We’ve been encouraged to see many people who’ve contacted us, making their own efforts and being successful at kitten rescue/re-homing. Look for our article about kitten rescue included in ARK’s next newsletter. And, we’ve formed a partnership with our local and regional animal control centers to help lower the number of cats destroyed, through TNR assistance and re-homing. We have already gotten started saving kittens that would have otherwise been destroyed, and going out to trap/spay moms. These are exciting days, as we see a positive shift in attitudes about animal welfare here in Japan.
