Betsy
Bennie and Hobbes
These kittens and mom were rescued, when one of their siblings caught the attention of an elementary school student. One of the kittens had become separated from the group and was found under a bush, unmoving. We quickly took the kitten to the vet for emergency treatment (she recovered, and has since been adopted!), and then came back to look for others. There were none in any of the obvious places, but we decided to set up a trap for the mother. Within a short time we had trapped the mother, which led to some peeps from the kittens, leading us to their location. 6 kittens, counting the one at the vet’s, around 5 weeks old. Two were very easy to socialize, and were adopted out, but the others remained standoffish, especially Hobbes. Betsy, the mom, is easy to approach, but doesn’t really like to be touched. This group lives in the veranda enclosure, as it gives them the privacy that they enjoy, while allowing them a bird’s eye view of the neighborhood goings on. They like to race around the upper walkways, and have a bath in the sun!
