David found Jellybean inside a cardboard box, that had been taped shut and left in a parking lot near some trash. He nearly walked past the box, but stopped to pick it up and move it a little, to check if something was inside. She was only a small kitten at the time, but he could tell there was something in the box, so he opened it up to take a look. He found it shocking that someone could leave a little kitten to its certain death like this. It rained heavily that night, and she wouldn’t have had a chance. Jellybean came back to the shelter, escaping disaster, and arriving still in good shape. She has always been on the small side, though, and tends to very nervous. If one of the other cats even walks a little close to her, she starts to cry in a panic. These days Jelly is hanging out in the kitten enclosure, where she is the biggest cat, and we hope this will someday increase her confidence.
