Señor was found in a parking lot near the riverside. David was riding past on his bike and a little black and white kitten came running out from between the cars, seemly flagging him down. David scooped him up and brought him back to the shelter. Señor was just a little older than Hotaru, so the two boys made friends quickly. But unlike Hotaru, who can’t get enough of the company of people, Señor was standoffish, and he never meowed. We decided that maybe he couldn’t understand our language, or even Japanese, and had stopped trying to communicate! So we called him Señor, which seemed to suit him, and he has been our mysterious Latin gentleman ever since.
