Gorgeous day today…sunny and breezy…some might say windy, but not me! I love a blustery day. Off from classes today, other than a Halloween party prep meeting. Decided the grass in the kitty grass baskets had gotten tall enough to hang the baskets near the perches, and the new idea was to hang them outside the enclosures to make them last a bit longer. When the baskets go inside someone eventually gets the bright idea to sit in the grass, effectively ruining it for everyone else (some say ruining it, other say a worthwhile moment of cool green bliss!). The adult cat enclosure works better with this plan, because they have plenty of space in the fencing to reach through to get the grass. But the kitten enclosure’s netting makes that somewhat difficult, so I tried 2 baskets outside and put one inside. They really liked the inside basket and often walked over to play with the grass or chew it. By the end of the afternoon, it was a bit the worse for wear, but still in fairly good shape. They seem to be ignoring the baskets hung on the outside, but we’ll see how it goes. Pictures…

Chobi has filled out and gotten a whole lot more active! She runs around playing, and seems to be in much better form. Still limiting her diet, while increasing it gradually, and so far the litter box looks great. We decided to take her outside for a short time, since we’re still worried about putting her in the enclosure. She had a great time! I’m so pleased that the vet managed to find a good plan, given all of the unknowns, and that she has responded so well. Pictures…

A group of abandoned kittens (5?) will probably be coming our way soon, and it looks like Rose and Daisy will be coming back from their foster placement. Their care-giver’s job has been eliminated as the school unfortunately may be closing, so they’ll be heading back to the States. Really nice people, and I’m very sorry to lose them, as well as sorry that they have to deal with an abrupt move. Hopefully Rose and Daisy find their way back into the group without too much trouble. It’s unlikely that we can find another placement that we could move them into quickly, rather than bringing them back here, but fingers crossed.

2 Responsesso far.

I’m so sorry for Rose and Daisy and their placement. I hope all will turn out well for those folks.
Its great to hear that Chobi is doing so much better. Her markings are sooo cute and unusual! I bet she will be a beautiful cat….
Cat grass is always popular with my 4 cat crew. Once in a while I will buy them a cat grass plant and it doesn’t last longer than a couple of days with all of the attention they give it.

Oh and thanks for the Fantasia update….she still strikes me with those beautiful eyes in her photos. She looks much contented these days….
I love the snuggle kitty photos….on cold nights, I find myself in the middle of a big kitty pile myself (so much so that I can’t move)
Those abandoned kittens have gorgeous markings too. They don’t look hissy…are they friendly? If so, maybe they can go to the adoption center once the vet clears them?
