Benjamin Adopted!
At only 8 weeks of age, Benjamin was taken to Animal Control to be destroyed, along with his four siblings, one of whom didn't survive the stay at the animal control center. On June 7, JCN was able to intervene, thanks to a new partnership program in which we help to rescue surrendered kittens. Upon arrival, Benjamin and his brother, Braeden, and sisters, Brenna and Bethany, were all seriously malnourished, and were found to have contracted Parvo virus while at the animal conrol facility. All were treated and have thankfully now recovered. Benji is a calm quiet kitten, who enjoys attention and being cuddled. He was adopted by a family in the Tokyo area on November 21, 2010. Benji's siblings are currently staying in a foster home in Gifu, and can also be available for adoption in other locations. JCN regularly brings kittens and cats to the Kanto area for adoption and fostering. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in meeting available candidates.

*****Notes*****
1/17/11 - Kuro and Benji are getting along well, there is some competition for my lap, but I am used to that with the boys!!  Benji is definately Logans kitty, he plays with him every morning.  Logan has taught Benji to bring back his toy after Logan throws it. The other morning this was the game while Logan sat at the table eating breakfast. Benji would run and slide on the floor chasing after the toy and then take it back to Logan to be thrown again.  I haven't seen Kuro and Benji play together, but they sleep together alot, and Kuro will clean Benji's face.  It's funny, even with kuro being here first and older, Benji has managed to become the dominant one.  I have kept him off the top of the refrigerator and she seems to be pleased with that.  He has been good for her, she now lets everyone pet her and carries herself with more confidence.

12/04/10 - Enclosed are some pictures of Kuro and Benji, they seem to be doing fine together. We haven't witnessed them playing together yet but I think it will come.  Logan loves Benji and I think the feeling is mutual, Benji sleeps on his bed at night.

11/26/10 - Unfortunately our trip set Benji back with his progress with us, He seems to be hiding out under the bed again today.  When we seek him out he is very loving, but seems to be fearful in a group setting, prefers a one on one basis.  We have seen Kuro and him touch noses, and Benji would like her acceptance more than loves from us as he will follow her and leave us.  We are going to try Benji sleeping with Logan tonight!  We have found Benji under the blankets on Logan's bed during the day, so he definately knows Logan is his boy!

11/25/10 - Just a quick note, the cats surrived their night alone.. and so did my house!!
I think Kuro might have played Momma/Big Sister/Babysitter she seems extremely tired!
                            Happy Thanksgiving

11/22/10 - Well, we made it through the night very calmly.  Benji stayed under our bed feeling secure hidden by the bedskirt.  Kuro did her nightly goodnites, following me in my nightly routine and they had a little stare down peeking at each other under the bedskirt.  We were awoken around 5:30 am by Benji jumping on the bed, he didn't stay but left the room and went downstairs.  That was my cue to get up and make sure all was ok!  Kuro was in the window behind the curtain and Benji was in the kitchen.  Not sure they knew where each other was.  We had a meeting/passing incident on the stairs.. with Kuro growling and hissing, but I think she is more scared of him than he is of her!  I have no fears that they will accept one another sooner or later.  I feel so sorry for Benji, he wants so much to be friends with Kuro, she is the standoffish one!  She is also very jealous of me which might be making it harder for her.  You should see the glares I get when I show Benji love.
Benji used the litter box when I put him in it this morning, so far I have not seen him eat or drink.  He seems to be still upset and nervous though.  I will try again to encourage food and drink this afternoon.

11/21/10 - Just a quick note to let you know Benji has arrived!  He is beautiful with such soft fur, a little scared from the traveling but has let Logan hold him briefly.
