Sumi

Sumi was rescued from the roof of a
parking garage, and we believe that she was born in 1999. She tested
negative for disease, but developed the kind of mouth ulcers we've seen
in FIV positive cats. Sumi is a very affectionate and responsive cat.
She likes to talk and loves to be held. With regular medication,
special food, and care, she has a happy life here at the shelter. Sumi's care is currently sponsored in part. She is staying at the veterinary clinic near the Kansai shelter, and can be visited there. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in sponsoring the remaining part of Sumi's care. Sumi at the veterinary clinic,
showing interest in water and food...talking to the cat next
door...rubbing her head against mine.

Sumi eating her sashimi mixed with liquid feline Senior
Support...eating an old stray packet of her favorite food, that I found
in the cabinet (it was discontinued last year)

She is still very affectionate, but
the mouth ulcers are causing her discomfort, which causes weight loss.
We've tried many kinds of treatments, some that have been successful
off and on, but she's been less responsive to any of the treatments
recently.
