Sumi

Sumi was rescued from the roof of a
parking garage, and we believe that she was born in 1999. She tested
negative for disease, but developed the kind of mouth ulcers we've seen
in FIV positive cats. A very affectionate and responsive cat, Sumi
liked to talk and loved to be held. With regular medication,
special food, and care, she was happy for a long time at the
shelter, but moved to stay at the clinic when her quality of life
depended on more specific care. Sumi was very lovingly cared for
there for the last 6 months of her life, enjoying afternoons in their
sunny enclosure, and special grooming time in the morning. She passed away from anemia related
complications on July 31, and will never be forgotten by those of us
who knew and loved her for so long--our curly tailed monkey girl!
Special needs kitties like Sumi deserve a happy life too, but they rely
on sponsors to help with the costs of their care. Contact

Sumi's rescue
story...
Sumi at the veterinary clinic,
showing interest in water and food...talking to the cat next
door...rubbing her head against mine.

Sumi eating her sashimi mixed with liquid feline Senior
Support...eating an old stray packet of her favorite food, that I found
in the cabinet (it was discontinued last year)

She is still very affectionate, but
the mouth ulcers are causing her discomfort, which causes weight loss.
We've tried many kinds of treatments, some that have been successful
off and on, but she's been less responsive to any of the treatments
recently.
